Italy defeated Mexico to finish second in Group A of the
FIP Polo World Cup 2011 being played in San Luis, Argentina.
They will play the loser of Brazil vs England for 3rd/4th place.
Italy beat Mexico 8-7 to fight for a spot on the podium in the
2011 edition of FIP Polo World Cup. They await the outcome of
the game between Brazil and England to meet their opponent in
the match for third and fourth.
Mexico began the game with a goal on handicap, and in the first
chukker Aztecs dominated the scoreboard board 3-0. Italy scored
a goal through Elizalde Francisco in the second period and by
the end of the chukker the score was tied at three goals a
piece.
At the beginning of the third chukker Italy was better and
stronger in the game and from there things started to turn and
and they took control of the game with a halftime score of 5-3.
In the second half both teams played their best polo with good
moves. Italy over the course of the chukker was more effective
than Mexico and won 8-7.
