Elevation trounce Cavalry (Black) to win the Prozone Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup (12 goal) in New Delhi.
Elevation could blame no mistakes today. They easily outplayed Cavalry
(black) to win the Prozone Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup. Gerardo
Mazzini starred in their win over Cavalry (Black), with Satinder Garcha, Hamza
Ali and Bhawani Kalvi. In the 1st chukker Elevation was leading by 3 goals
to 2. However, in the 3rd chukkar Elevation moved away and were leading 8
- 2. Cavalry (Black) made an effort in the last chukker but Elevation kept ahead
and won the game with a final score of 9 - 5.

The Prozone Scindia Gold Cup continued in New Delhi today, with
Cavalry (Red) defeating Jaipur Polo Company which received a 1/2
goal start on handicap.
The first chukkar saw Cavalry (Red) gaining an early advantage
as Santiago De Estrada put in two goals for his team. The
chukkar was coming to an end when a foul by Cavalry (Red) gave
Jaipur Polo Company a spot hit penalty which was converted by
Manupal Godara. Cavalry (Red) stared the second chukkar in
attack as H.H. Tunku Ismail Ibrahim put in two quick goals
receiving good passes from Santiago De Estrada. Jaipur Polo
Company who were playing a defensive game did not score a goal
in this chukkar. Jaipur Polo Company came back with one more
goal by Abhimanyu Pathak in the beginning of the third chukkar.
At the throw-in, Vishal Singh of Cavalry (Red) got the ball and
passed it upto Santiago De Estrada who made a brilliant run
towards goal and scored the fifth goal for his team. Santiago
scored two more goals and had a hatrick at the end of the
chukkar. At the start of the final chukkar, Manupal Godara
scored the third goal for Jaipur Polo Company. Cavalry (Red) did
not put any more goals on the board. At the end of the game
Cavalry (Red) ran out the winners, the final score being 7 - 3.5
goals.

The third day of the Prozone Scindia Gold Cup saw Elevation
giving their usual spirited performance as they took on Cavalry
(White). The first Chukkar began with a foul by Elevation at the
throw-in which gave Cavalry (White) a 40 yard penalty which was
converted by Lt. Col. Atul Gupta. This was followed by a 30 yard
penalty conversion by Gerardo Mazzini for Elevation. The score
leading upto the second chukkar was 2.5 - 1 goals in favour of
Cavalry (White).
The second chukkar began with Elevation's Satinder Garcha taking
the ball at the throw-in getting away to make a run towards goal
which he easily scored. A foul by Cavalry (White) gave Elevation
a spot hit in front of their goal mouth which was scored by
Gerardo Mazzini. Cavalry White came into the attack again as
Simran Shergill intercepted the ball from Bhawani Kalvi of
Elevation and went on to score the third goal for his team.
The third chukkar began with Satinder Garcha putting in another
goal for Elevation which was followed by a goal by Gerardo
Mazzini which cemented the lead for Elevation as the scoreboard
read 5 - 3.5 goals. A foul by Hamza Ali gave Cavalry (White) a
chance to put in their fourth goal as they were awarded a 30
yard penalty which was converted by Lt. Col. Atul Gupta.
The final chukkar began with Elevation giving away a foul, and
Cavalry (White) was awarded a 60 yard penalty. Simran Shergill
of Cavalry (White) took the penalty and scored. Elevation then
scored three quick goals in succession as Satinder Garcha,
Bhawani Kalvi and Gerardo Mazzini put in one each for their
side. The final score reading 8 - 5 .5 goals in favour of
Elevation.

GAME 1
The second day of the Prozone Liberty International Maharaja
Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup saw some more furious action with
defending champions Elevation taking on Jaipur Polo Company in
the first match of the day. Brilliant play by Elevation gave the
team victory over Jaipur Polo Company which was given 1/2 goal
on handicap.
The first chukkar began with Elevation in attack from the moment
the ball was thrown in. Three quick goals by Gerardo Mazzini
gave them an early advantage over Jaipur Polo Company. Bhawani
Kalvi of Elevation put in the fourth goal after receiving a pass
by Satinder Garcha and the score was 4 1/2 goals in favour of
Elevation at the end of the first chukkar.
In the second chukkar both teams were playing a defensive game.
Jaipur Polo Company was unable to put a single goal on the
scoreboard. Hamza Ali was the lone scorer of the chukkar with
one goal for Elevation.
The third chukkar began with Jaipur Polo Company putting in
their first goal which was converted by Uday Kalaan after he
intercepted the ball from Bhawani Kalvi. Two fouls by Elevation
gave Jaipur Polo Company a chance to close in the gap on the
score board and both the 30 yard penalties which they received
were converted by Manupal Godara. Elevations Satinder Garcha
and Bhawani Kalvi put in a quick goal each for the team before
the final whistle blew cementing an unbeatable lead of 7 3.5.
The final chukkar saw Gerardo Mazzini put in two more goals for
Elevation out of which one was a 30 yard penalty conversation.
Elevation won the match convincingly by 9 3.5.

GAME 2
In the second match of the day, Cavalry (Black) met Brave Heart
who received 2.5 goals on handicap. The first chukkar saw Cdr.
AP Singh of Brave Heart put in a quick goal after he received a
pass from Col. Tarsem Singh.
Cavalry (Black) began their attack in the second chukkar. Two
fouls by Brave Heart gave Cavalry (Black) a chance to put a goal
onto the scoreboard. Guillermo Tarera converted the two
penalties awarded to Cavalry (Black) with ease. Lt. Col. Tarun
Sirohi then went on to score for Cavalry Black at the end of the
chukkar with the scoreboard reading 3.5 - 3 goals in favour of
Brave Heart.
At the throw-in of the third chukkar, Capt. Vishal Chauhan was
quick to get onto the ball and passed it onto Guillermo Tarera
who made a run towards the goal and scored the fourth goal for
his team taking them into the lead. Two more goals by Tarera and
one by Lt. Col. Tarun Sirohi for Cavalry (Black) took the team
into the lead by 7- 3.5.
The last chukkar saw Col. Tarsem Singh of Brave Heart score for
his side. Guillermo Tarera put in tow goals in secession for
Cavalry (Black). The final score was 9 4.5.

Col. Tarun Sirohi 2 goals.

The Prozone Liberty International Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia
Gold Cup got underway this afternoon at the Jaipur Polo Ground
in New Delhi. A total of 8 teams have entered this highly
competitive 12-goal tournament.
In the very first match of the tournament, Kingfisher First took
on Brave Heart. There was exceptional play by all the Kingfisher
First Team members, particularly the pivot Angad Kalaan who was
the highest goal scorer for the team.
The first chukkar began with Brave Heart gaining an early
advantage as they were given 2.5 goals on handicap and a goal by
Lt. Col. NS Khera who converted a 30 yard penalty which was
awarded to the team. Kingfisher First's Adhiraj Singh then got
the ball at the throw in and hit a long shot upto Angad Kalaan
who went on to score the first goal for the Airline.
The second chukkar began with Kingfisher First in attack. A foul
by Brave Heart gave Kingfisher First a 30 yard penalty which was
easily converted by Angad Kalaan. Kingfisher First added 3 more
goals onto the score board as Basheer Ali converted two and
Angad Kalaan scored one more. The Chukkar ended with the score
of 5- 3.5 in favour of Kingfisher First.
The third chukkar began at the 5 b mark, a long pass by Adhiraj
Singh upto Basheer Ali resulted in Kingfisher Firsts sixth goal.
A foul by Brave Hearts Cdr. AP Singh gave kingfisher a 30 yard
penalty which was converted by Angad Kalaan increasing the lead
by 7 goals to 3.5.
Brave Heart found it difficult to get into the game until the
fourth chukkar with Lt. Col. Shekhawat putting in a goal for his
side. Two more goals by Angad Kalaan for Kingfisher Firsts gave
them victory and the final score was 9 - 4.5.
Scorers for Kingfisher First: Angad Kalaan - 6 goals, Basheer
Ali - 3 goals.
Scorers for Brave Heart: Lt. Col. NS Khera - 1 goal, Lt. Col. JS
