Cavalry (Black) won the Rao Raja Hanut Singh Cup defeating Cavalry (Red) in the sudden death 5th ckukker at the Jaipur Polo Ground, New Delhi

The finals played today was very exciting and hard fought match. Both teams were 10 goals and played superbly. HH Tunku Iman Ibrahim opened the account for Cavalry (Black) while Vishal Singh opened the account for Cavalry (Red) in the 1st chukker. During second chukker both teams scored one goal each. During 3rd chukker Cavalry (Black) scored two goals while Cavalry (Red) could not score any goal. The 4th chukker played at very fast pace and Santiago De Estrada scored 2 goals for Cavalry (Red) and balanced the score. In the sudden death chukker Capt Vishal Chouhan scored the golden goal for the Cavalry (Black) to lift the Rao Raja Hanut Singh Cup 2008.

Feb 8
The 1st semi finals of the tournament was played between Cavalry (Red) and JPC. Both teams were 10 goals and combined well. JPC scored 3 goals in the 1st chukker 2 goals in the 2nd chukker and one in the 3rd chukker while Cavalry (Red) scored one goal each in 1st and 3rd chukker and 2 goals in 2nd chukker. The score was 6 to 4 in favour of JPC. 4th chukker was not in favour of JPC in which they scored only one goal while Cavalry (Red) scored 4 goals in this chukker and won the match.
Scorers for Cavalry (Red): Santiago De Estrada (3), Vishal Singh (3), HRH Maj Tunku Ismail Ibrahim (2).

2nd semi finals was played between Cavalry (Black) and Elevation A. Match played at very fast pace. Both teams were 10 goals each and played superbly. Guillermo Tarera scored two goals while Satinder Garcha scored one goal for Elevation A. In the 1st chukker. In the 2nd chukker Elevation A scored 2 goals while Cavalry (Black) could not score any goal. In the 3rd chukker both teams scored one goal each. Score was 4 to 3 in favour of Elevation A. In the 4th chukker Guillermo Tarera converted a 40 yard penalty and level the score but Tarun Bilwal scored a goal for Elevation A and took into the lead. In the dying moment Guillermo Tarera converted a spot hit and again level the score. In sudden death chukker Guilleromo Tarera converted a 30 yard penalty which won the match for Cavalry (Black).

Feb 7
JPC beat Cavalry (white) by 7 goals to 6. Capt Sameer Chaudhary opened the account for Cavalry (white) while Uday Kalaan opened the account for JPC. In the 2nd and 3rd chukkers Cavalry (white) score one goal in each chukker while JPC scored 3 goals in the 3rd chukker. In the 4th chukker Cavalry (white) scored 3 goals to take lead 6 - 4 but during the last minute Manupal Godara converted two 40 yard penalties to level the score 6 - 6. In the sudden death 5th chukker neither team scored a goal. In the 6th chukker with widened goals Manupal Godara converted a penalty for JPC to win the match 7 - 6.

Cavalry (red) beat Elevation B by 10 goals to 4.

The last quarter final match was played between Cavalry (Black) and Jindal/Dracon. Cuillermo Tarera, 7 goaler Argentine scored 2 goals in the 1st chukkar while Jindal/Dracon started with 1/2 goal on handicap and scored 4 goals in the 2nd chukkar and 2 goals in the 3rd chukkar and Lt Col tarun Sirohi added one goal in the 2nd chukkar for Cavalry (Black). The score was 6.5 to 5 in favor of Jindal/Dracon in the rd chukkar. In the last chukker Guillermo Tarera scored two penalties for Cavalry (Black) to win them the game.


Feb 6
The opening match of the tournament was played today at the Army Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantt between Elevation A and Horse & Wagon. Both teams were 10 goal each and the match was played at very fast pace. Satinder Garcha opened the account for Elevation A and Fedrico Von Potobsky added one more goal in the 1st chukker whereas Angad Kalaan converted two 60 yards penalties in 2nd chukker. Elevation A scored 2 goals each in 2nd and 3rd chukker while Angad Kalaan again converted a 40 yard penalty in the 3rd chukker. Score was 6 to 3 in favour of Elevation A. In the 4th chukker Elevation A scored 2 goals while Horse & Wagan scored 3 goals to reduced the margin 6 to 8. The final score was 8 to 6 in favour Elevation A.
