Cavalry (Black) defeated Cavalry (Red) to with the DSC Northern India
Championship (12 goal) in a great finish played at the Jaipur polo ground, New Delhi.
Finals played at the Jaipur Polo Ground had a nail beating finish. Both teams
combined well, displaying their horsemanship and skill of stick work. Cavalry
(Black) was 11 goal team so they stared with 1/2 goal on handicap and scored 2
goals in the 1st chukker while Cavalry (Red) scored 3 goals and took 1/2 goal
lead. In the 2nd chukker Cavalry (Red) scored one goal while Cavalry (Black)
scored 2 goals and took 1/2 goal lead. In the 3rd chukker both teams scored 2
goal each. The last chukker was played at very fast pace. Both teams putting in
their best, scoring some quick goals but finally Cavalry (Black) lifted the DSC
Northern India Polo Championship Trophy 2008.

In the Pool A match Cavalry (Red) defeated Cavalry (White) by 10
goals to 5. Santiago Estrada scored 4 goals, Capt Sameer
Chaudhary scored 4 goals and HRH Maj Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored
2 goals for Cavalry (Red). Guillermo Terara scored 3 goals and
Vishal Singh scored 2 goals for Cavalry (White).
In the Pool B match Cavalry (Black) defeated Equisport/NDA by
7.5 goals to 2. For Cavalry (Black) Lt Col Tarun Sirohi scored 4
goals, Maj Navjit Sandhu scored 2 goals, Hamza Ali score 1 goal.
They started with a 1/2 goal handicap. Adhiraj Singh scored both
goals for Equisport/NDA.
February 28, 2008
The first match of the day played between Cavalry (White) and
APRC/Sahgal Stud was closely contested match. APRC/Sahgal Stud
scored 3 goals while Cavalry (White) scored 2 goals in the 1st
chukker. In the 2nd chukker both teams scored one goal each and
during 3rd chukker again both teams scored 2 goals each. The
score was 6 to 5 in favour of APRC/Sahgal Stud but during the
last chukker Vishal Singh scored a goal for Cavalry (White) and
equalized the score.

(2).
Scorers for APRC/Sahgal Stud: Gaurav Sahgal (4), Dhruvpal Godara
(1), Samir Suhag (1).
The second match of the day played between Cavalry (Black) and
Equisport/NDA. The match was an one sided affair. Nicolas
Scortichini scored one goal for Equisprot/NDA.

1st league match of Pool A was played today at the Army
Equestrian Centre, Delhi Cantt between Cavalry (Red) and APRC/Sahgal
Stud. Both teams were 12 goals each and played at fast pace. HRH
Maj Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored 2 goals and Simran Shergill
scored one goal for Cavalry (Red) while Dhruvpal Godara scored a
goal for APRC/Sahgal Stud in the 1st chukker. Santiago De
Estrada scored 2 goals for Cavalry (Red) while Dhruvpal Godara
converted a 40 yard penalty in the 2nd chukker. During 3rd
chukker APRC/Sahgal Stud scroed 3 goals while Cavalry (Red)
scored one goal. In the 4th chukker Santiago De Estrada scored 2
goals while Dhruvpal Godara scored one goal for APRC/Sahgal
Stud.
