ABN-AMRO Bhopal Pataudi Cup- Jindal Steel & Power VS. JPC, Nov 18

The FINAL of the ABN-AMRO Bhopal Pataudi Cup was played on Sunday November 18 in Delhi between Jindal Steel & Power and JPC.

Mr Basheer Ali (+3), Maj Bhanupratap Singh (-2), Mr Samir Suhag (+5), Mr Naveen Jindal (+2)
Mr Varun Sharma (+1), Mr Simran Shergill (+1), Mr Raghav Raj Singh (+2), Mr Manupal Godara (+4)

The final was very exciting, thrilling, hard fought match played at fast pace. Both the teams were 8 goals each and displayed their superb stick work and good horsemanship. Varun Sharma opened the account of JPC by scoring a goal in the beginning of the first chukker. Simran Shergill scored another goal to take the lead 2-0. Jindal Steel & Power could not score in this chukker. Manupal Godara played brilliantly and converted a 30 yard penalty to increase the JPC lead 3-0 in the 2nd chukker. Basheer Ali scored one goal and Samir Suhag scored goals through 30 and 40 yard penalties to level the score 3-3. Raghav Raj scored a brilliant goal to take the JPC lead 4-3 in the same chukker. naveen Jindal scored one goal in the 3rd chukker to level the score 4-4. Basheer Ali scored 2 goals to take the lead of Jindal Steel 6-4 for the first time in the match. Manupal Godara scored one goal for JPC to narrow the margin 5-6. The last chukker was very fast but disastrous for JPC as they could not score in this chukker while Samir Suhag who played a pivot role in the victory of Jindal Steel by giving long and lofted passes to his forwards and scored a goal to take the score 7-5. Basheer Ali scored another goal in increase the lead 8-5.
Rajmata Gayatri Devi of jaipur was chief guest and gave away the prizes to both the teams. Begum and Nawab of Pataudi and Bhopal, Nawabzada Saif Ali Khan and Mr Ramesh Sobti were the guest of honour at the ground for the match. SAPNA the polo pony belongs to Mr. Manupal Godara was adjudged the best polo pony of the tournament.

Jindal Steel & Power won the match 8 - 5.
