Baroda Cup - Final - Jindal Steel VS. South Delhi, Nov 3

The final of the Baroda was played on November 3, 2002 between Jindal Steel and South Delhi in New Delhi.

The Jaipur Polo Ground witnessed the large crowed with the stands fully packed. The final was very exciting, thrilling and hard fought match. Both the teams displayed their superb stick work and good horsemanship. Jindal Steel & Power conceded ½ on handicap to South Delhi and scored 2 quick goals in the 1st chukker while Karan Vijay Singh scored a goal for South Delhi. In the 2nd chukker both the teams scored one goal each through Samir Suhag for Jindal Steel & Power and Philip Elliott for South Delhi. The score was 3 to 2 ½ in favour of Jindal Steel & Power. The 3rd chukker was disaster for South Delhi in which after putting their best efforts they were unable to score any goal while Samir Suhag scored 3 goals and Shamsheer Ali scored one goal for Jindal Steel & Power to make there lead 7 to 2 ½. In the 4th chukker Karan Vijay Singh and Philip Elliott scored one goal each for South Delhi to narrow the margin 4 ½ to 7 but during dying minutes Shamsheer Ali scored a brilliant goal to make the final score 8 - 4 ½ in favour of Jindal Steel & Power.
